Marquez Hall
Colorado School of Mines, Golden, Colorado
Architect: Bohlin Cywinski Jackson and
Anderson Mason Dale Architects
Marquez Hall is a new Petroleum Engineering Facility at the Colorado School of Mines on which Studio NYL served as the Structural Engineer and Specialty Facade Consultant. The laboratory building uses balanced cantilevers throughout to minimize floor vibrations. Cantilevers are a theme in this structure, but is best seen in the 60 foot long West Lobby cantilever with hung thermally broken structural glazed facade.
